Miniature: Watercolor and gouache portrait of Lady Blake, in an oval pendant locket with fixed bail and jump ring attached, pendant measures 55mm x 76mm including fixed bail, within a rectangular gilt wood frame that measures 130mm x 156mm, signed on back "Cosway" (see photo). From the collection of former US ambassadors to France and Belgium.
CONDITION:
Portrait condition is excellent; frame shows some gilt wear, paper backing has scattered tears; good glass. Items in this portrait miniature collection are written up to the best of our knowledge.
